Extremely Rare 1979 Japan made Les Paul

This is the real deal. If you have not heard about this particular Les Paul Reborn Model....
then I recommend you do some research.

To cut a long story shot, Tokai Japan were (and still are) making the Gibson Les Paul to the
perfect specs in every way to the 1950's & 60's USA Gibson Les Pauls. Gibson were losing revenue, Got a little
scared of the quality Japanese Market ...so they sued....as you do! Hence the Famous "Law Suit" 1980's Models.

For many years Tokai Japan gave up on the Western Market, due to the brain wash Monopoly of Gibson & Fender.
There are even old posters & mag articles of Stevie Ray Vaughn using Tokai Strats back in the day...
Fender but a stop to that real Quick! As you would.
The Japanese are extremely fussy, & perfectionists in the Guitar Making Craft.
I beleive a lot of the hype around these 1970 Jap Customs has to do with the Old Tone Wood Collection
Japan had, bad then in the day....they actually have just released another batch of vintage
Tone Woods for the new Jap Custom Models, sp I was told from the Australian Rep.

A lot of guitarists actually prefer these Les Pauls over the Gibson Les Pauls...
crazy I know! But after owning 3 USA Les Pauls myself...I too am one of those people.
I have had 2 of these Custom Les Paul Tokai's (check out the guitar page @ www.sikaudio.com )
in my possession over the years. All the while the 3 other USA Gibsons came & went....quite quickly.
Honestly...there is no comparison for me.
I actually sold my trusty 1996 USA Paul Reed Smith to get this Axe from Japan.

This is a Killer Axe with Classic Killer Looks & most of all KILLER TONE!

This Tokai Custom Les Paul Reborn has been FULLY customized & modernized. After all it is over 30yrs old!
Gibson Les Pauls & Tokai Les Pauls, back in the 70's had a nice tone and all....love the Old Tone Woods,
but I like the modern quirks in my Guitars. Like:
the EMG pickups with Coil Tapping / Slitting, Brass Nut, Gotoh Sealed Locking Tuners.

Here is the List of Custom Mods on this Beauty:

      Active EMG 85 (bridge)
       Active EMG 89 (Neck - with coil tapping)
       Brass Nut
       Japan Gotoh Locking Tuners (much better the the Gibson Style 1970's Vintage sticks that were on it)
       Japan Gotoh - TonePros Locked Bridge setup
       Japan Gotoh - Tail piece
      Black Metal Stelth knobs

All these Mods alone have cost well over $1000aud. It was actually quite the mission to get this Jap Gotoh
Hardware in a Back Die...not the cheap painted hardware that flakes off over time & wear.

The only sign that there has been any mods is, when I got it many years ago the tuners had been replaced
already with the old Vintage Style Gibson pegs. Whoever did this (i got the Guitar from Japan) had to re-drill
new little peg srews on the rear of head stock. So I was able to use the original holes for the new Gotoh Machine
Heads I have put on, but you can see the little screw holes from the previous Tuner mods. Please not the rare
head stock photo below to see what I am talking about. I was going to re-spray the rear of head to cover it....
but instead I got lazy & just used a Flat Black Pain Marker to cover the old mods. There is also some fret wear
on the very last few frets, under the B & E strings. Just had the frets Professionaly Re-Crowned.

Extremely versatile Les Paul with teh Coil Tapping on the neck pickup you can get some super clean
spanky sounds, with TONE Ooozing from this Black Beast. Oh, its also the Heaviest guitar I have had over
my sholder! TONE WOODS, back in the day they must have weighed a lot.
Price you ask, Well I payed $1600, plus $1000+ of customization. I am in dire straights & have to sell my prized
possession to get this Credit Card Monkey of my back. So I am asking what I think is Extremely discounted @
$1,600. This is for sure a collector & a player guitar. By all means, Do some research.
USA guitar factories....Look out the Japs are Back! To show they are up there on the top shelf with the
Best Guitar Creators in the World!
